I'm thinking of relocating to my home country, lovely England with my fiance.:) (I was born there). I was wondering, for somebody who eventually wants to start a family in the next few years, where is the safest place to live? We want friendly people, decent neighborhoods, and a bit of culture and art thrown in there! PS: I was born in Liverpool, so we were thinking of maybe relocating there, but I don't know if it's the safest place to live... has it changed at all. Thanks to everyone for their suggestions!

Anywhere away from the big cities and conurbations is safe and friendly. Go for a small market town. It doesn't really matter where. It will be cheaper in the North.
