ok so i have this friend that live in england and i wanna call him but i cant figure out how like i keep usling like the 0044 and the 001 and all that but like can someone tell me wht i am so posed to do.. like wht number am i soposed to use and like yea...

Your long distance operator should be able to advise you. Just dial zero and ask.

Dial 0 then 11 then 44 then the rest of the number. I also have a friend that lives in the UK

When calling any place abroad you have to drop the (0) zero that precedes the local number. An example to call London 0898-77889977 you would look up the Landcode for the UK which is 44 then you would drop the zero. You would also need the correct dial tone for calling internationally. Then, type the number in as 4489877889977 and this should connect you directly to the number you dialed. The number I have given is imaginary..my apologies to anyone should they pick up. It is the same format from the UK to NY except it would mean they would type 00 for international tone then 1 for the USA and then the 555 zone code followed by the subscriber number which might be 12345. So this reads as 00155512345 and if anyone should pick up then my apologies. This is just an example of dropping the local zero in any subscriber number. Subscriber numbers can also be mobiles and other details than can send or receive calls/faxes.

Ask the long distance operator, or refer to your telephone book for instructions regarding international calls. If you can't do the above, don't use the telephone.
