How do I get a job in New York whilst I live in England

How do I get a job in New York whilst I live in England?
Firstly - how do I go about finding jobs to apply for? Secondly - what do I need to consider in terms of working visas etc?

Finding positions: use search engine and job search sites like monster.com or look at job offerings directly on the website of potential employers. In order to get a work visa you generally need to have at least a bachelor degree and ideally also a couple of years of work experience. And a higher degree would be better. Generally you cannot apply for a work visa. Your employer will have to apply for a work visa on your behalf. They will have to show that they can't get an US citizen for the job, so if it is a job which doesn't require a special skill there is no chance to get a work visa unless it is for very seasonal work. Look up H1B visa and the requirements for one. Getting you a visa will cost the company extra, so you better be extra good at your job or have a skill which is in great demand.
