Can I still be a shintoist even though I live in england?
I really would like to become shintoist, but can I be, since I live in England with no shrines and the religion isn't very popular. I'm not Japanese by the way, I'm English.

Shinto isn't a unified religion like Christianity (yes, I know Christianity isn't unified either, but to my understanding, Shinto doesn't even try to be). Since I'm not Shinto, I'm not the best person to ask, but there are shrines outside of Japan. There's some in the US, Canada, and France, so don't rule out the possibility of one being in GB. That being said, Shinto there will probably be somewhat different than in Japan, just so you know. If you get your views of Shinto primarily from cartoons, just remember how the level of accuracy in how Christianity is portrayed. They may also be resistant to the idea, since it does seem a little bit like spiritual tourism, but maybe not, since GB and Japan have a lot in common.
