I come from England but never lived there, ive got family so feel pretty confident with this: PROS- -Its England baby? Depending on where you live, its where its all happening, nightlife, concerts, people from all over the world coming&going -Variety of people if you live in the right areas -Best opportunities for university&education -Its close enough to the rest of Europe, making travelling easy -Lots of history -Healthcare CONS- -Depending on where you live, the areas can get pretty rough up north [Liverpool! East End of London] -It rains most of the year&winter is usually grey and miserable -Tax is high [VAT 17.5% think?] but not the highest in Europe -You get the odd terrorist problems, especially if you live in London

TV Sport Healthcare Countryside History Medieval cities Music Public transport @ Jared: All the revolutionary war proved is that it is better to rely on French mercenaries than German mercenaries to win a war for you. Besides, nearly 300 years ago - America is in serious decline. UK standard of living is higher.

England has a great history - visit London and theres historical houses and buildings on every other street. England produced great people like Shakespeare and dickens. England is small so you spend less time travelling to get to other towns than you would in other places like America. England doesn't have major temperature changes - its quite warm in summer, and not too cold in winter (although right now its a bit snowy). But it does rain quite a bit. England has a good public transport system, and also we have the NHS, which despite what everyone says about it, isn't that bad.

It's awesome! And also it is not any rougher up north than down south. That must be a Southerner speaking!
