I live in England and have been married for 7 years and have 2 kids (12 and 5). I have been separated for 3 months. I have started divorce paperwork in an amicable way with my wife ....but she is adamant that we need to be separated for 2 years before I can put a divorce petition. Does anybody know whether this is true?

EDIT: As far as I know through the solicitors, unless there's proof of unreasonable behaviour, IE: Affair, abuse ect. Then yes, it does take that long.
