I live in England and want to know if I can get a contraceptive pill over the counter?

I am 17 years old and would like to go on the pill, but do I need to get a prescription from the doctor or is it possible buy it over the counter at a pharmacist? I have looked at other contraceptives but feel the pill is the one for me, I want to uses it as an extra safe guard against pregnancy as me and my long-term boyfriend will continue to use condoms as well. Thanks for all that answer kx

No, you need to get a prescription from your GP, or from a family planning association.

No you can get the morning after pill over the counter but you need a prescription for the pill because the doctor needs to check your blood pressure and there are a few different types of contraceptive pill too. Hope this helps
