I'm planning on moving there and I would like to know what the lifestyle is like. Are people in the schools friendly? Is it true it's really expensive to live there? Is it hard to drive? Anything else I should know about living there?

Before you move anywhere, it's best to visit the place first. As much as a place may appeal to you, doesn't necessarily mean you will get on well living there. Also, the more you know about the place the less of a culture shock you'll have when arriving. One thing I can tell you though is yes, it is expensive to live here. Whenever I visit the US, I find that things over there are half to 2/3 the price that things are sold in the UK for. Luckily though, whenever you see a price tag in this country, tax is already included ;) Driving in the UK can be seen as a daunting task by a lot of Americans. Our cars are mostly manual instead of automatic, although automatic cars are available they are known to be more expensive since less people use them over here. Our roads are completely different to yours also as you probably know. With slimmer lanes(and slimmer/smaller cars), windy roads and roundabouts to consider, driving on the left, gears to shift.. When we're asked questions like 'what's it like in England', it's hard to answer. Most of us have never lived in another country to compare lifestyles with. But mostly, life is no different in a lot places (I gather you're from the US?) since western civilization is generally the same.

England is a great country to live. A little on the expensive side but you can find cheap places if you shop around. Driving is ok outside the big cities.
