Depends where you want to live specifically by community

Well, seeing as we use British Pounds here you can forget your Euros and US Dollars... There's no definitive way of outlining how much money you'd need as it all depends upon your lifestyle. However, generally speaking you should be prepared to pay up to double for things in comparison to what you would pay in California. As for the location in which you live, unless you live in Beverly Hills you really should forget about living in Victoria or Knightsbridge (the area where Harrods is). Both are prime locations in the centre of London and, needless to say, prices reflect this. There aren't a great deal of houses in the Victoria area as it isn't really a residential area, but to buy a house in Knightsbridge you're looking at £3 million ($6 million) at least. Knightsbridge is one of the most exclusive areas in London and you need the bank balance of a Russion billionaire to live there.

For an idea of how much property prices are right now have a look at this site...just enter the details of where you want to live but be prepared for a shock...cheap they aint! http://www.rightmove.co.uk/ btw...we still use Sterling here, we never went over to the Euro.
