Can I buy a replica Thompson 1928 submachine gun, that is a display model, as I live in England?
I'm confused over some the rules of the VCR act.

In looking at your laws, the short answer is no. There are some exceptions, but you may not fit into the excepted classes. There are forces at work here that would have us under the same sort of laws. The one way that you may be able to get what you want is to join or start a reenactment society. This is part and parcel of a whole hobby, and can be a great deal of fun. We here in the states use the real guns because we can, with blanks. I have done both British and American, and am currently thinking about going German for some battles.
